2008-09 Fantasy Football news here soon!

The rules are the same as last year, fantasy managers have £10 to spend on a famous five of prime Stainash sporting specimens from the registered squad to start the season with. Due to the nature of team selection and positioning, there is no separation of attacking or defending points. Once you've settled on your selection, either email your team to fantasyleague@sastainash.org.uk - do it as soon as possible, any entry received after the season kicks off will get half-points for the matches already played.

There'll be a transfer window every two months giving you a chance to fine tune your squad and where any new players will be added to the game, and you'll be able to keep track of all the standings on the SA Stainash website. Player values are based on last year's scores and are clearly not a reflection of perceived ability or anticipated selection - with so many new faces this year there are lots of bargains to be had, happy shopping!

Points are awarded in all competitive league and cup matches.
Man of the match will be chosen by the coaching team, player of the month is voted for by the squad.
Points for goal scorer, yellow and red cards will be as per the referee's report.
Assists can be complicated! An assist will be awarded to the player who plays the ball to the goal scorer, though if the last touch before a goal is scored is by an opposing player and it significantly alters the speed or direction of the ball, then no assist is given. An assist will also be awarded to the player fouled for a set piece from which a goal is scored directly. If the fouled player subsequently scores from the penalty/direct free kick, they get both sets of points. If a penalty is awarded for a handball, then the player who played the handled ball is awarded the assist. If a goalkeeper parries a penalty, or it comes back off the woodwork, and the penalty taker scores from the rebound then any assist given remains. If a different player scored from the rebound then the penalty taker gets the assist.
Despite suggestions there are no points awarded for scoring from back-heels or artistic impression, and no minus points for own goals, conceding penalties or wearing white boots.
